Beyond the Scoreboard: The Heart of our B Division NSG Journey
Competing at the National School Games is no small feat. Behind every match, race, and performance are months of preparation, sacrifice, discipline, and resilience that often go unseen. Beyond the medals, this year’s B Division NSG journey was one filled with growth, challenges, and unforgettable moments for our athletes.
Here’s what our captains had to say about their season this year:

One significant challenge we faced was in the semifinals against the same opponents who had defeated us in the second round. We were down 4–0 initially, but we shifted our mindset and adjusted our tactics. With that, we were able to keep our dream of winning alive. Despite our efforts, we were narrowly defeated 5–4. Through this experience, we learnt the value of fighting spirit and resilience no matter the outcome. That match showed my team that there is always room for improvement. With grit and determination, we will make a comeback next year!
— Nurin Faiqah, B Division Floorball Captain

“Each game pushed us to adjust quickly, especially when the oil patterns didn’t go our way. There were moments when shots didn’t go as planned, but as a team, we learned the importance of resilience — supporting one another, staying mentally strong, and bouncing back after every miss. These challenges didn’t just test our skills, but also taught us to encourage and help each other, making our journey even more meaningful.”
— Isabelle Ariel, B Division Bowling Captain

“Our 2026 season was disappointing for us, with the second day of racing cancelled due to the rain. However, it reminded us that there is much more to competitions than just medals and rankings. What truly mattered was the unwavering support and teamwork we shared with our CCA teachers, our coach, and one another. Those moments of resilience, unity, and encouragement meant far more than any final placing.”
— Desiree Lee, B Division Sailing Captain

“Together as a team, we worked hard to improve individually and collectively, building stronger chemistry and learning to bounce back from challenges and setbacks. This hard work and mentality led us to defeat an opponent we had previously lost to in 2024. It showed us just how far we have come.”
— Charlene Chia, B Division Basketball Captain

“Throughout this season, we encountered countless strong opponents with even stronger determination. Despite our shattered nerves, we maintained a persistent defiance and none of us lost hope. We held on to that ‘what if’ and faced our opponents with everything we had.”
— Rena Soh, B Division Badminton Captain

“Playing new positions and adjusting to different line-ups was something we had to do this year. Some of my teammates took on positions they had never played before, while others had to quickly adapt to playing alongside completely new combinations of players. Although this was challenging at first, we remained determined and continued supporting one another throughout the process.”
— Sophie Misheala, B Division Netball Captain
As the season comes to a close, we celebrate not only the achievements of our athletes, but also the character, resilience, and unity they displayed throughout their journey. Their experiences this year will continue to shape them into stronger teammates, leaders, and individuals both in sport and beyond.
