The Direct School Admission (DSA) Exercise allows schools to offer places to suitable students with outstanding talent areas before the release of their PSLE exam results. TKGS invites Primary 6 students who have the ability and potential to meet our listed criteria below to apply.
Criteria
Applicants should fulfil the criteria listed in the talent in special areas below.

Choir | Students should preferably have relevant experience such as: • Being an active Choir member in Primary School or having prior experience in choral/solo singing Students will be assessed on: • A song of the student’s choice (without backing track or live accompaniment) • Intonation, musicality and vocal technique • Aural ability to sing back a short musical passage after it has been played on the piano |
| String Ensemble | Students should preferably have relevant experience such as: • Being an active member of the String Ensemble in Primary School, OR • Having at least a year’s experience playing in an orchestra/ensemble Students will be assessed on: • Two contrasting solo pieces of the student’s choice (not more than 5 min each) • Two different scales of student's choice (commensurate to her current level of proficiency) • Sight-reading |

| Symphonic Band | Students should preferably have relevant experience such as: • Being an active member of the Band and/or any music-related CCA in Primary School, and/or • Play any of the following instruments: Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, String Bass or symphonic band percussion instruments (snare drum, timpani and mallet percussion such as xylophone, marimba, glockenspiel) Shortlisted students will be assessed on: 1. Two contrasting pieces on your instrument, with a total playing time of around 3 to 5 minutes 2. Major scales of up to 2 sharps and 2 flats 3. Sight-reading Shortlisted students will be required to submit the link to their PDF music scores via email at least one week before the audition. |

| Dance | Students should preferably have relevant experience such as: • Being an active member of a Dance Club in primary school, OR • Having performed well in a reputed dance competition (local / overseas) Students will be assessed on: 1. Technical routine test (Test for balance, strength, and sense of rhythm) 2. Short-dance routine test (Choreography will be given for applicants to learn during the audition. Applicants will be given a time-limit will to learn the choreography) |

| Sports | For Sports CCAs | Students should preferably have relevant experience such as: • Having represented Primary School in the National School Games (Zonal or National), OR • Having represented National Sports Association or Club in local or overseas competition OR • Having represented Singapore Primary Schools Sports Council in local or overseas competition (Attach copy of the certificate if any), OR • Being currently enrolled in MOE’s Junior Sports Academy (JSA) Programme and has completed a sport module similar to the relevant Sports CCA of choice |
| Badminton, Floorball, Netball and Softball | In addition to the criteria mentioned above, applicants for the following Sports CCAs will also be assessed on: • Sport-specific fitness • Sport-specific skills • In-game decision-making skills. |

| Music | Music Elective Program | Students should preferably have relevant experience such as: • Being actively involved in a school-based or external musical group Shortlisted students will be assessed via audition on: • Performance of two contrasting prepared pieces on an instrument of choice or voice that is in total 2-5 minutes in duration and any/all of the following items: • Aural task that requires students to imitate and respond to simple rhythmic and/or melodic phrase by clapping and singing • Sight-reading and Scales • Listening & Theory written test which may require simple score-reading skills To help us understand your application, please email an excerpt of your playing in the form of an mp3 audio clip (no longer than 1min) to wong_ching_yi_chesed@moe.edu.sg by 8 June 2026 |

Applicants who do not have prior experience may also apply. The school will access applicants based the selection criteria, which may include assessing the potential of the applicants.
Shortlisted students will be notified of the dates of the auditions, trials, or interview via email registered in the DSA portal. Please be informed that parents are not allowed to attend the auditions, trials, and interviews.
Application for DSA-Sec can be submitted through the online DSA-Sec Portal. The application is free-of-charge and will be open from 6 May 2026 to 2 June 2026, 4.30pm. For more details, please refer to MOE website - http://www.moe.gov.sg/dsa-sec.
DSA 2026 Application Instructions

Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools wisely based on the student’s aptitudes and strengths, bearing in mind the schools’ academic and non-academic requirements, and the programmes available to develop the area of talent.
Students who are successfully admitted to the school via DSA are expected to honour their commitment to the school, and participate in the activities related to the talent they are selected for from year 1-4.
