The school uses strategies from the resource “Pathways to reasoning and communication in the secondary school mathematical classroom” developed by NIE (EPMT) project to sharpen their mathematical thinking and deepen their learning of each topic from secondary one.
All secondary two students are taught Polya’s model of problem solving using MProSE. They are taught what to do when you do not know, thinking skills and heuristics as strategies to solve problems creatively and flexibly.
Mathematical modeling is about engaging students to tackle and understand problems in real world.
All secondary three students experience math modelling and infusion of MProSE in at least one of the strands of mathematics.
ICT Enriched Learning through Wizlearn and E-portal
To support self-directed and collaborative learning, all students are encouraged to tap on the online lessons, online platform for discussion, remedial and support resources. The syllabus for each level is also found in the e-portal.

Australian Mathematics Competition Training
It aims to give students external recognition of their mathematical achievements and derive enjoyment from the problems which are set in situations to which students can relate, showing the relevance of mathematics to their everyday lives.
Singapore Mathematical Olympiad Training
It aims to develop creativity and flexibility, openness to alternative view-points in thinking process and problem solving abilities, develop positive attitudes towards challenges and derive a sense of personal achievement in mathematics. It also aims to build upon the talents of our scholars and top mathematics students to give back to the TKGS community.
